Karl Breitenbach, M.D.
Dr. Breitenbach attended medical school at The University of Missouri at Kansas City and completed his residency at the University of Utah and McKay Dee Hospital. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice with certification in 1987, 1994, 2001 and 2008. Dr. Breitenbach offers a variety of medical services in complete family care including obstetrics. He also offers office and limited surgeries including tubal ligations, vasectomy, appendectomy, tonsillectomy, ear tubes, dilation and currettage, cesarean sections, dermatology including removal of skin lesions, well and sick child care, and fracture care. He has a variety of interests including white water rafting, mountain biking, archery, hunting, fishing, photography and backpacking. He has been practicing in Vernal since 1987 and he and his wife, Paula have four children, Ryan Merrell, Nikki Merrell, Makenzie Breitenbach and Kagan Breitenbach.
Michael Olsen, M.D.
A Utah native, Michael Olsen received a Batchelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Utah in 1995. Dr. Olsen graduated from the American University of the Caribbean, School of Medicine in 2000, and then completed three years of post-graduate training at the Mercy Health System Family Practice Residency Program in Janesville, Wisconsin. He has lived in Vernal, and practiced medicine at the Basin Clinic since 2003. Dr. Olsen is a diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine, first becoming board certified in 2004. He has been a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians since 2012. Dr. Olsen is a member of the Utah Medical Association and has been active in the community. He served on the Board of Trusties of Ashley Regional Medical Center from 2007-2009, and as Chief of Staff in 2008. He has clinical privileges at Ashley Regional Medical Center, and at the Uintah Care Center where he does inpatient, newborn, injury/illness rehabilitation, long-term, and end-of-life care including hospice. At the Basin Clinic, Dr. Olsen provides complete family health care, wellness examinations for newborns through the elderly, pre-participation physicals (athletic, scouting, missionary), pre-employment physicals, preoperative evaluations, and Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals. He places IUDs and is trained in Nexplanon placement for contraception. Dr. Olsen does minor office surgeries including skin biopsies, lesion removal, and laceration repair. Kirk Woodward, M.D.
Medical School: American University of the Caribbean Residency: Mercy Health Systems, Wisconsin Board Certification: American Board of Family Practice Services Provided: Complete family heath care, well child visits, DOT physicals, skin care (warts, moles, rashes, etc.) Reproductive heath including birth control. Male and female complete physical exam. Laceration repair, non operative orthopedic care, urgent care. Interests: Whatever his children are involved in, outdoor recreation, hunting, fishing, motor sports. Hobby: ranching. Active in community and church. Him and his wife Sherilee, have four children, Kaylee Ann, Crystal, Wil and Jackson.
Rodney Anderson, M.D.
Rodney Anderson is a Board Certified Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He initially certified in 1992 and has subsequently recertified in 1998 and 2005. He graduated from Medical School at The University of Utah in 1989 and completed a 3 year residency in family practice. During residency, he recieved additional training in pediatrics at the Denver Children's Hospital and Denver General Hospital. He also recieved additional Obstetrical training at Breckenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas and John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth Texas. He completed his fellowship requirements for the Academy of Family Physicians in 1997. He has been in practice since 1992. This practice includes the full spectrum of Family Health Care. He especially enjoys Obstetrical care including Cesarian-Sections. he also does minor surgeries including ear tubes, D&C's, and Laproscopic Tubal Ligations. His office practice provides complete family health care including for employment and Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals, pre-participation athletic exams, annual physicals, IUD placement, skin biopsies, laceration repairs, and vasectomies. He is a native of Vernal and he and his wife, Terri, have six children. They enjoy a wide array of activities including hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, river running, golfing, and watching their kids participate in numerous activities.
Sarah Woody, FNP
Sarah Woody is a Vernal native. She attended Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon where she received her Family Nurse Practitioner. She has practiced at Basin Clinic and Urgent Care since 2011. Sarah enjoys rural health care and caring for the people from her home town. When not working she can be found riding horses, camping and gardening.
Amy Olsen, FNP
Amy Olsen is originally from Price, Utah. She is married to Michael Olsen and they have 5 children. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Weber State University and her Master's Degree in Nursing from Westminster College. She is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She provides primary care services across the lifespan and particularly enjoys prenatal care, pediatric medicine, and women's health care. She is trained in Nexplanon and IUD insertions.
ToriLynn Price, FNP
ToriLynn Price has been a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners since 2009. She received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Weber State University and her Masters Degree in Nursing from the University of Wyoming. Tori offers primary care across the lifespan, including minor in-office procedures, insertion and removal of IUD and Nexplanon birth control, wellness care, acute and chronic illness management, and early prenatal care. Tori grew up in a small town in Wyoming. She and her husband run a farm and have three children, Jaxton, Aubry, and Kyler. Her hobbies include sports, crafting, baking, and being actively involved in her church. Most of all her passion is raising her beautiful children.
Rhonda McKenna, PA
Rhonda McKenna is a local girl who moved to Vernal when she was 2 years of age. She graduated from Uintah High and went on to college from there. She completed her undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University Hawaii. She met and married her husband Kyle McKenna while living in Hawaii. They traveled with the Marine Corps for several years. After Kyle completed his service with the Marine Corps she was able to move to Washington State and get her Physician Assistant degree from the University of Washington. Rhonda has been practicing for 3 plus years in Roosevelt, but now has an opportunity to be closer to home. She has experience in a variety of things including, family medicine, internal medicine, urgent care, DOT exams, sick children visits, women's health, teenage well visits, and mission physicals. She is very excited to be back working for Basin Clinic. She lives in Vernal with her husband Kyle and their 1 year old son Stockton.
Joe Porter, PA
Joe Porter was born and raised in Preston, Idaho. He received his bachelor degree in Radiologic Sciences from Boise State University. He then attended the University of Utah to obtain his Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree, finishing in 2012. After graduating, he and his family moved to Vernal to work at the Basin Clinic Urgent Care. Joe enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelsie, and their three children. You can also find him riding his mountain bike, road bike, and training for triathlons.
Michael Wilson, PA
Michael Wilson moved from Southern Utah in December of 2007. Since then, he and his family have called Vernal home, and have come to love the many opportunities for their children. He has been working at the Basin Clinic Urgent Care since January 2008 and loves helping the families and individuals of this community. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Utah in 2004. He worked in a microbiology lab at ARUP labs for a couple of years prior to attending PA school. He enjoyed the University of Utah's Physician Assistant Program and was excited to begin his PA career upon graduating in 2007. Michael has said "I love my job......every day is different and exciting". When he's not found at the Urgent Care, Michael enjoys spending his free time with his wife and four children exploring the surrounding area, going to the lake, and just being together.
Walt Wootton, PA
Walt Wootton moved to the Uintah Basin from Heber City, Utah while in high school. He obtained his bachelors degree in Medical Technology from Weber State University. He then attended the University of Washington Medex PA program where he obtained a Masters of Clinical Heath Services degree, graduating in 2013. Before attending PA school he worked as a medical technologist and laboratory manager at the Uintah Basin Medical Center laboratory. When not seeing patients in the Basin Clinic Urgent Care he spends time with his family farming, biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, watching and participating in all sorts of sports and reading. Together with his wife Bethany they have 5 children, Thayne, Brinnly, Colter, Ronan and Tate.
